TSSE-Explosive Specialist Gear

A Transportation Security Specialist – Explosives (TSSE) is a key role within the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), focusing on safeguarding transportation systems from explosive threats. These specialists serve as technical experts on improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other explosive threats to transportation security. 

TSSEs are typically former members of public safety or military bomb squads, bringing extensive experience in explosive ordnance disposal. They must meet specific medical and security clearance requirements and are often required to be available for various shifts and overtime as needed.
